That is the best way to describe it. When I push the brake, it sort of grits its way down and emits a sort of rubber on rubber sort of sound. I can feel it sort of sliding like its not lubricated or something. Brakes work just fine other than that feel and noise.

Is there an easy way to correct this? A lube point perhaps?

Can you get down there and look? Is there a rubber grommet or something near the firewall that's come loose? If you can feel/hear something like that, it seems like something in/near the pedal assy itself, and not further down the brake system.

There may indeed me a hinge point that needs lubrication, or maybe a bushing that worn out. Someone on another thread here ("Brake concern..."?) said their dealer was replacing the pedal assy for some TSB issue. You might check into that.

I am experiencing the same issue. Its hard to explain the 'sound'. At times, my pedal feels like it goes down further than it should. I suppose 'gritty' would also be the word I use. It feels or sounds as if something is dry. It doesn't always do it though. When it does, its when you are getting to the point of where pedal is coming towards end of travel.

Do you have the adjustable pedals? Other than that, you're connected almost directly to the booster. Also, could your anti-lock brakes be acting up?

I had my master cylinder replaced. Fixed it right up.

Thanks for the update. Never would have thought of that, so I'll keep it in mind if mine ever starts acting up.

master cylinder, had the same problem years ago and after replacing power brake booster and not fixing problem, did the master cylinder and problem fixed.
