I seem to have read a lot of reviews about brakes and rotors going bad early and often on the ST. Do you think these are isolated problems or is this a real problem across the product line?

I have an '01 ST with 4 Wheel drive, 97,000 miles. I have replaced the front pads on the truck once at 75K or so and the rotors are original. I seem to recall having the rotors turned at some point maybe around 30K due to warping. Every Ford I have owned, '90 T-bird SC, 93 and 97 SHO, '91 Aerostar, has had rotor warping issues that are typically fixed by turning. It's a Ford thing.

They use just the least amount of material to do the job for common drivers.

My 01 ST still has it's original rotors with over 80K miles on it.

Mine didn't warp until I did some oval track type racing at a local creek. :D
But, turning them fixed them back to normal.
