Brake Rotor Specials From Explorer Express!

what should be done 1st?

John or any other brake experts. I know the front brakes usually wear a lot more than the rear. I want to get a least a pair done and the other pair later down the road. So would should I go ahead and order the fronts? And for having one done, I should not have any issues with using slotted/stock (slotted on front/factory in the rear)?

p.s. mine is 2WD

No problem, it will not be a problem. You put the slots on the front now and do the rear when you need to.

John! It says that they are for "web site members"! What website is it? This one OR yours? Also will the rotors for my 92 be bolt ons? Thanks! BTW: Nice price!

Explorer Forum of course! They will bolt on to a 1992. They come with a sensor ring for the ABS that you will not need.

Hey John,

I think I will be ordering the fronts...I pulled my wheels offf and gave a looksies and the rears are still good, but the fronts are shot. I keep reading that the PF pads eat the rotors up? How much more than say Bendix? Is it something to be worried about?

Either way...I think I will be getting the front rotors for 01 Sport 4wd, shipped to 85701. Can I get a total?
Depending on what you say about pads, I want those too. Do you carry any besides PF?

The brake rotors for the 01 Sport are actualy the same as the Sport Trac. As far as the PF pads go, there are carbon metallic. As in part carbon, part metal. They do have great stopping power and they last longer than most brands. Like many performance type parts, there will be a trade off. I think it really depends on how you drive and where you drive. If you drive like and madman and you live on a mountain, your rotors are going to suffer. Honestly, I have only heard about the rotor problem from one person on this site. I do not have a history of complaints from mail order customers. We do have the Bendix in stock as an option. They are a quality brake pad, they just do not offer the same performance.

Power Slot Rotors #8754PSRL................$245.95 per pair
Shipping To 85701 (ups ground).............$ 21.00

Let me know if you have any questions!

guess i was confused....thought the 01's were $93 a piece according to the first ad you posted in this thread? if im mistaken, let me know. it seems like the Pf pads wont be that big of deal...whats the price for those front? lets get this going...I would like to order them tomorrow! I need these bad! you can PM me if ya want...I might get it quicker.

thanks,

Todd

Sorry about the delayed response, we have been wicked busy! My mistake, it turns out that the 01-03 Sports have the larger rotors like the Sport Tracs and they are more expensive. Did not mean to misinform you that way. Let me cover the shipping and we can call it all good! The best price I can do on the Performance Friction brake pads is $59.95

Brake Rotors.................................$245.00
Brake Pads....................................$ 59.95
Shipping.........................................$00.00
------------------------------------------------------
Total...............................................$304.95

Give us a call tomorrow and we can get them shipped out for you!

Here are the revised prices.

I just want to put in a plug for John V and the powerslot rotors and Performance Friction brake pads. I bought some front rotors and pads from him and Explorer Express three years ago for our 93 EB as we do a lot of towing. After, three years, they are still doing fine and we have put them through torture towing our travel trailer in hot Texas heat.

As a result, I bought some for our 96 5.0 and have had equally good results. More importantly, it sure is nice to deal with a company owner these days like John V who will talk to you on the phone and gives you true personal service.

John - I'm want to order a pair of these slotted rotors for my '99 4wd XLT, but how do I get the forum member price when I order on the Explorer Express website.

By the way, thanks for making this special offer!

John
How do we order the brakes and get the discount becuase I would like to get the 94 4x4 front rotors with ABS and pads as soon as posible. Hope to here from you soon.

Yes these slotted can be resurfaced, no problem.

You can order these on line or call toll free at 888-EXPLORER (888-397-5673)

If you order line, just mention the special price in the "special instructions" section at the bottom of the on-line order form. The special price will be reflected on the invoice that comes with your parts.

Hey John

Quick question...I already have the fronts & was going to order the rears. But, according to your pricing above, the pair of rears for an '01 Sport 2wd would be $132.95 ea. Yet, on your site, they are listed for $209.90 for the pair???? Could you give me an idea of what the price would be actually, since the special above comes out to be quite a bit more than your website normal price.

Thanks
