how do you tell when callipers and front wheel bearings need replacing? What is the cost of new ones for a 91.

I'd like to start off by welcoming you to the site. You'll find anything and everything all right here.

To answer your question.....look, listen, and feel. Take your truck for a short QUITE drive. Listen for any sounds while you're driving. If you heard what sounds to be metal on metal from your front wheels odds are you need new bearings. If you hear it when stoping you'd need new pads, and you may as well replace the bearings while you're at it.

Also, take off the front wheel. Look at the pads. Do they look worn, or are the still a full pair?? Take a look at the bearings. Do they look kinda old and worn?? Do they have a hard time moving in your hand?? If so they'll need to be redone too.

The pads will run you about $50 for a set with a lifetime warranty. The bearings will run about $10 for all 4.
