Braking problems

Hi all,
I have a 2005 Sport Trac XLT which I am experiencing some braking problems. When trying to stop at low speeds, I hear a strange noise coming from the front brakes. It sounds the same as if the antilock brakes are slipping on ice. Any suggestions on what this is?

is/does your abs light come on

I get this every now and then but not too terrible, so I'm curious also.

This morning my ABS light came on when I first started my truck but when I turned it off and back on after a short drive, the light went out.

mine was doing that same thing then finally the light can on and never went away. mostly likely one of your sensors is getting ready to go out. allot of people on here will tell you that the back sensor the mostly likley one to go out. there is a way to test the sensors withat meter but i couldnt figure it out. me personaly as didnt want to just replace sensors like trial and error to find the right one i just called around to shops and found the cheapest place that will scan the abs for the faulty one. for mine i replaced the back as suggested on this site for two reason cheap part and easy to change but didnt want to tear apart the front end on both sided to find out which one was bad so i when to midas and cost me $25 to tell me which one went bad and it was right.. hope this helps, sorry for the story
