Brett,
I have read and understand your rear disk brake conversion. However, to give me a jump on this, approximately how much did you have to adjust the power booster pushrod out? Was it just a few mm's/turns or more than that? Anything will help and be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Todd,

Rick actually let me in on this trick. He said he had to do it on his truck. Anyway, I didn't have to adjust it much. Only about 2 turns. This can, however, vary from vehicle to vehicle. I actually had to adjust mine and take it for several test drives until it "felt right." I also readjusted it after about 1000 miles.

Let me know if this helps you out any or if I can help you out in any other way.

Brett,
Thanks for the quick reply. I am going to try to go rip some brakes off of a parted late model on Wednesday.
I figured that the adjustment wasn't much and would vary, but at least this gives me a ballpark. Thanks!

Rear Brakes ?????

Brett
I have been trying to locate your disk brake conversion thread that I read so much about, but am having no luck. I have a 91 and just picked up a complete set of rear disks. Before I run out and try to make them fit, do you have any tips or tricks.

Dont forget fella's, I too did the rear disc conversion on my truck (well I bought a disc braked 8.8) and Brett helped me with the whole thing. HE helps me with everything, hahahaha

Anyways I adjusted the front/rear biast with the pushrod and it worked okay.

However recently I took on the much bigger job of finishing the conversion, I installed the master cylinder form a 95 Explorer that was set up with the correct bore for the rear disc brakes.

The brakes work about 300% better now, and I did a full write up on the proceedure and problems encountered.

I would recommend if you are going to do the rear disc brakes, do it right and use the correct master cylinder........
