so i was helping my grandfather in the yard like i often do pulling small shrubs and stumps out of the ground with my navajo, well i was puling on one particularly stubbern shrub when i heard a loud SNAP so i put it in park and looked around didnet see anything broken or and nothing leaking so i continued. In doing so i noticed that my front wheels were nolonger pulling yet the front drive shaft was spinning, so i turned off 4x4 and finnished the job. well my question is did i strip it, is there a safty pin that can get shered, or is now the time to do a SAS? thanks

Auto hubs?

If so, you most likely busted the cam assembly inside the hub. Easy to fix if you can track down a replacement.

Check this thread for more info on the auto hubs: Clickity click

If the front drive shaft is still moving then you either blew a Hub, or U-joint as they would be weakest links in the front axle.

See the 4x4 troubleshooting guide for more info..

To test for a blown Auto Hub
  1. Put T-case in 4x2 (disengage 4x4)
  2. Crawl under the truck and rotate the axle shaft (any direction). After several revolutions the autohub should click and lock. If you can still rotate the axle shaft the hub is blown..
  3. Repeat #2 on the opposite axle shaft..

thanks thats what it is, i'm gunna start looking for some manual hubs to put on it, thanks for all the help
