That Sux

You might have to pull out the inner plastic wheel well to gain access to it

You're going to have to pull off the fender to get to the bracket that holds the antenna on. I'd imagine the removal instructions would in a haynes or chiltons manual.

thats the one thing that i have been dissapointed in with my truck. Some things are just too much effort for such little things...like wtf pulling of a fender to get to the antenna...christ.

just like my battery tray..***** welded like you wouldn't believe..took 3 hours to get just half of it off....had to do some body work in the area underneath it..

guess thast my my gf's father hates ford and is a chevy guy

I had to remove more my passenger side fender last week to take out a dent it took me 15 minutes max to take the fender off. it's a couple of bolts and screws nothing to extreme. All vehicles have thier quirks and problems chevy included.

yeah I'm sure its not hard, but my fender is a little F'd up, had an accident so its bent and stuff...going to get new ones soon..

just saying it sux ...plus its damn cold out to be taking fenders off...I will just wait until i get the fender replaced

thanks though...

OR..... just for get about the antenna and get XM radio

WHAT????? Yeah, thats the thing too do. Don't fix the antenna. Spend a couple 100 on a new radio, with a monthly charge to listen too. Just let the other go. Even though it is totally free!!!. Fix the antenna.

4.6.... hey I'm biased, but what can I say.... Until you've tried XM, you have NO idea how much its worth it....

Since I put XM in a month ago, I havent even touched my 6 disc or the FM radio...

Its just incredible.... try it for a week and I guarantee you'll be sold;)

Unless you have a power antena it is cake.

Pop the antena base cover off and remove the three philips screws.
Lift the base up, pull the antena wire off. Tie a string to it so you don't loose it in the fender.
Go to a junk yard, get a mast and a base.
Reverse the steps.
You'll hardly break a sweat.

nice...so I don't have to pop the fender off..good..too damn cold for that.

on a side note, my head unit is XM ready, so I don't need to buy anything if I wanted to do that, just the antenna for that crap and the montly service..

I agree with the poster in the above mentioned post. XM Radio is awesome:D . $10 a month is well worth it.

you could just remove the anttena and put in a snorkal:D
