As a DIYer, I have made a mistake of torquing my bolt-on my transmission connection place to much, and now it's broken. If I don't fix this, will this cause my tranny to leak out and make a mess down the road?

Can you post a picture pointing to the bolt?

depends... from my experience, worth much less than than the others... as long as the rest of the seal is firmly on, and it seems firmly held on, should be alright, if its firm and on the top, even better lol... best of luck!

If its one bell housing to engine bolt, you will be fine. Worked on quite a few with one or more missing bolts. There are 8-9 bolts holding that transmission (overkill in my opinion, the V8 transmission uses only 6) and as long as you have the two in the top, the two in the bottom, and one on either side, you're covered.

I agree with the above. One broken bolt? As long as the rest are there, run it.

Now if you really want to get that thing out, you can always pull the tranny, build that stud up with a welder, put a nut on the nub you made, weld the nut to the nub (fill that nut with plenty of wire/electrode/filler rod), and then blast it out with an impact gun. Before you weld, hit it with brake cleaner or similar if you’ve previously used any type of penetrant. Let dry thoroughly.

I’ve yet to not remove a broken bolt/stud from cast iron or aluminum using this method. Do not try on steel. Works GREAT when corrosion is the cause of the break. Welding will get it red hot, then I douse it in penetrant, and immediately get the impact on it.
