FYI
I was on the Interstate on cruise but had touched the gas pedal to pass a truck when I heard a Klunk.
It was only when I was merging from I 691 to I 84 that I found out that I had lost my gas pedal. It was gone, as in not there. I managed to use cruise to get to an exit and off and parked. The bracket (or bolt?) holding the pedal had broken off and it was hanging by the cable.
NOT VERY NICE!
So check out your pedals people before it happens to you.

wow. ive never heard of that happening before. Good thing your OK.

My insurance offer a free towing service as part of the policy. They dropped me at the nearest dealer within 15 miles. Ex. sat from Friday to Monday afternoon then I got the call back from service manager. They were going to weld the pedal back up. For this massive job I was charged $90! I figure it at $18 per minute. Just wish I could get a piece of that action. Still the tow in was free.

i had almost the same thing happen to me. i was driving a 10 ton work truck and the end of the throttle cable broke off in the middle of traffic........... not fun. luckly i had a visegrip and clamped it till i could get back to the shop

Great. If it's not one thing its the other. I can't beleive we have to be concern of this too. :(
