I know this is an old posting, but I just had to remark that my Explorer had EXACTLY the same problem - same engine, same cylider (#3) had broken Bosch plug electrode. Problem happened after overheating problems caused by a partially clogged radiator. After I replaced the radiator, engine started running rough until it warmed up, then seemed to run fine. Noticed some "vibration" at highway speed, but thought it was a front end problem. Had to drive it 400+ miles home on what I later realized was only 5 cylinders
Replaced the plugs, crossed my fingers & started it up. Seems to have no problems since.
