Just a quick question. Does anyone know if the lug spacing is the same on a Bronco II as it is on an Explorer? I have a set of old wheels That I really like that are off of an 80-something Bronco II and could save a few hundred bucks if I could put them on the Explorer. They are a tri-spoke Prime and I've liked them ever since they were given to me but I never had anything that they fit on. Now if they'll fit I just have the chore of digging them out of storage and cleaning the years of dust off. :p

Ray, the Bronco II lug pattern is the same as the Explorer, and I'm pretty sure the bore diameter and backspacing are too. There is a difference in the stock widths, the Explorer being 7" and the BII being 6".

Thanks, Runnin. The stock width isn't important here because these are wide rims. ( I think about 9" wide) with a bunch of dish on the front of the wheel. They were first bought as low-rider wheels when it was popular to make your car look like a roller-skate with the wide wheels that stuck out from the fenders and low profile tires. I think they still have fifty series street tires on them. I'm planning on having them taken off and having 32's or 33's installed.

They will swap out with no problem... Same bolt pattern - same backspacing...

I change wheels and tires between my 86 Ranger and my Explorers all the time.
