I'm finally getting around to adding to my truck after 3 years of doing what I can stock. I want to add a brush guard and was hoping to mount a winch as well. I've seen a lot of full size trucks with winches mounted on the guard itself and I was wondering if anyone knew of one that fits the ST's.

Honestly I wouldn't go this route though. The mounting to the frame is only held on by weak stamp welds that can and do rip off easily. I would get a front hitch receiver welded to the frame so you can take the winch on and off easily.

If you had a bodylift you could do that hidden winch mount project and still be able to mount a brush guard. You'd have to fabricate new brackets for the brush guard with the bodylift but you're already welding the winch plate up so go for it.

I would've listed this project but everytime I do everyone says it's too much work. I really like this idea, plus I have more room in there now that I just removed the A/C compressor, lines and condenser.

Im definitely going to do a BL. But an SAS is in the future plans as well and wasn't sure how that would affect the crossmember, etc.

It would only strengthen the frame/ crossmember.

I'll have to look into doing that then. And I remember reading that write-up a long time ago and its very well written.

Pictures or it didn't happen, LOL...

It just snowed 8 inches this morning... and I work until 11pm.. But I bet I'll catch myself out in the tundra putting this thing on tonight after work!!!

Nice cardboard box. LOL Why isn't it mounted yet, LOL??????

lol you know it would be if I had been home when it came in, even if it meant me being late for work... Who knows, maybe I'll head home on my lunch break :salute:

Lol.

Got out there and got it assembled (6 bolts lol)- but decided I'm giong to wait for the BL Install, since there's gotta be custom mounts anyways (right?)

Boooo, when is the bodylift going on? LOL, Let's see some pictures.

Hopefully the BL will go on in early (hopefully early early ) March. Also considering making/designing some sort of ladder to fold down from the tailgate for my dog to get in once the BL is installed...

anyone tried anything like that?

I'll do some measuring and designing for a ladder or ramp setup for ya on Monday after this storm passes through.

Very nice!! I love your custom designed swing-out - so I know you've got the skills!

I was thinking maybe something that has pins to lock it onto the tailgate, and some additional pins on the inside of the bed wall so I can disconnect and mount it inside the bed wall if it gets in the way.
