Brush Guard Question

I have a 98 Explorer. I know that the Westin Brush Guards made for my year have the 2 upright bars like this:

I want a grille guard like the ones for the 99-01 explorers that slant outward like this:

My question is, if I put a 99-01 Mounty bumper on my truck would the brush guard I want fit? I called Westin and the tech support guy said that I would be a guinea pig on this one because no one has ever tried/asked before.

I called Westin back and found out that I can't even use that brush guard on my truck because the mounting for Sports (what I have) is different from 4 doors.

It should be the same, they are just confused, and think you have a sport track (or were to lazy to actually check the differences in 4 doors and sports).... I have one on my sport, that was for a 4 door, and it bolted up just fine.

I dont know about Westin, but I know Manik makes them. Check out my guard, its on the link below. Not as slanted, but I know they will fit all years of x's and mountys. Only minor bumper mods will have to be made. hope this helps!

Nssj2 is correct - I just looked at the sticker right above the license plate and it does say Manik ! My bad

I don't really know since like I indicated on my post, it was a dealer installed add-on. A quick look at Westin's website (manik doesn't have prices) for something similar yields

Kinda expensive if you ask me - something in the range of $400 would be a good deal. Lower of course would be better (as long as quality doesn't suffer) FREE is best
