I've been designing and working on fabbing up a new rear bumper for my X since I recently found out it doesnt hold up to well to trees when I'm out wheeling
So I recently got Solidworks 2005 and have been learning how to use it so my designs still arnt finished yet, but I've always drawn it out on paper and have been basing my design off of FAKWREE's rear bumper since it has a nice compact size but it also should be strong enough to withstand a hit from a tree. Heres a pic of what I've been able to design using Solidworks (I'm remote linking from Cardomain, if these dont work just visit my cardomain site and scroll down to the bottom.)
And heres what I have so far:
I'm hoping by next week I'll have the mounting brackets finished and have the lower portion welded up so I can actually mount it on.
Another thing I should add is that you should NEVER WELD ON YOUR RIG WITHOUT DISCONNECTING YOUR BATTERY TERMINAL! I dont know what I was thinking but my mind spaced today and I did a few tacks with my bumper mocked into place and it killed my battery but it didnt fry anything (Thank god!) If you guys have any suggestions on what I should add to my bumper or any good ideas on how to have it bolt onto my frame I would greatly appreciate it!
