I was chatting with a Ford Chicago worker I know and asked him if there was any wide spread delays he knew about the Xplorer. I mentioned that many people on this board experience delays.

His response to me was this "

Your kinda hit or miss on the time frame. If we have the parts yours will be on time. If we are out the day yours is built then the truck goes to a lot where they wait for parts and won't be fixed untill we have the man power on a Sunday because production runs 6 days a week. Were behind right now though.

Orrrrrr, the general manager at the dealership you ordered yours through could be telling you it hasn't arrived, when in reality, he's been driving it for 2 WEEKS and putting over 800 miles on it, like mine. I backed out of a 50,000 dollar vehicle, and will NEVER look at a Ford again.

I would never look at a Ford from that DEALER again.

I also predict that we'll read this one in about 20 threads...

To bad SgtDampier, it really is a great vehicle, but there is no excuse for what they did to you, i would've walked too!!! What did you end up buying?

The first dealer I went to laughed when I asked to see an Explorer. Salesman said he had one but the general manager took it home and if I wanted to see it I could come back the following day. Well they lost my business, I went to another dealer the same day and ordered mine. They also had one, it was on the lot but already spoken for. I was able to sit in it, but no test drive. I took delivery a week ago and I'm lovin my new ride. The only problem I have is with Sync. I will make an appt with the dealer to have it resolved.

Ended up in an Acadia Denali, went to the dealership and drove home with the new ride the same day. Can't say things don't happen for a reason i guess

You got a good ride partner, enjoy it. We went back and forth on this choice, but we stuck with the Explorer. You won't have all the MFT, and other bells but you will have a very stable platform for sure.

You cant just walk away! You should have Ford corporate look into this. A manager can't just drive a customers ordered vehicle for 800 miles and get away with it.
