Howdy!

Installing a trailer hitch and I need to remove and reverse the rear bumper bracket studs (put studs on outside of frame). Only problem is, I'm not entirely sure how they come out. The nuts are off the bolts, but I can't get the studs to budge. Do they stay attached to that little oblong strap or are they supposed to separate?

I pried on them a while and only succeeded in bending the strap on one. Any tips on removal would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Both studs remain attached to the oval locating plate. Don't pry because the studs have a toothed kind of grip on them (Like a windshield wiper mount). Take a hammer and tap the studds out.

Thanks for the info. I've wailed on the studs a little with a BFH after soaking them with oil, without much success so far. Gonna try supporting the bumper with something to take most of the load off the studs and see if that does the trick.
