Bumpers and body armor.

So i am new to the forum and have a 98 XLT with a 3" lift just looking for some advice/info will be posting pics soon so this is my question

K so i have a second gen X and i want to find new bumpers but don't like the tube style any suggestions? second does any one have any idea where i can get some kind of body armor, and when i say that i mean in the summer i like to roll with the doors off but now that the kids are old enough to go with me i want there to be some protection there but not the full door

and this is an example of the doors if any one has seen these or has ideas on how to make them because these are for a jeep but i would like something like this

There isn't a huge aftermarket "offroad" following in the retail world for our trucks. So i'm sure that the doors and the bumper would have to be fabricated or adapted to work for your vehicle from another.
 






You're in luck.

Our forum vendor RLC Welding makes the flat steel style bumpers, and has some pics of his work on a 2nd Gen:

Their price is way less than the ARBs, but still has clevis mounts, a winch mount, and from the other pics, you can see some other custom options you might like. The welds are also beautiful.


As for the tube doors, those would have to be custom made for an Explorer. Not too tough with an extra set of door hardware or just hinges and latches.
