i have a 91 sport that i'm planning on lifting in the near future and i was wondering about fender flairs and a james duff front bumper/brush guard. i can't seem to find either for my year explorer. but i know i've seen them on explorers of a similar before. even in the pictures posted here on the sight. can anyone help w/ location and best price? thank you-russel

Have you tried 4wheel Parts wholesalers? You'll probably have to have it special ordered. I had to special order my Bushwackers for my 97. It isn't that they don't make them, it's just that they don't make alot of them, hence they won't be in stock. The guy told me I was the first person he ever heard order them for a 95+ model.

I too have a '91 Sport with both the Duff front bumper and Bushwhacker Extend-a-Fender flares. James Duff makes a front bumper for our rigs for about $250. Check out http://www.jamesduff.com/broncoII/recovery.html.
The Bushwhacker flares are available from Performance Products. Their web site is http://www.performanceproducts.com. The web catalog does not list the Bushwhackers, but you can order a regular catalog that lists them for about $325 - - expensive!!

Yea, but they look good! Here's a picture of Paul's truck, Nice!

How do you drop the rear end without demolishing everything behind the rear wheels? Does it just drop on the shackles and then drag it til it hits the bottom of the rear bumper? I haven't done any rock crawling that is that extreme. I'm just curious. Thanks.

thanks guys for the help. that explorer is exactly what mine is going to look like! down to the color and everything. thanks again-russel

Goober,
Here is how we got around the problem of draging the rear spring hangers (WP 8.5" long shackles)..

They work well for us.. but I'm making some out of solid metal (steel) so they will last longer.. The ones we have now will work if I gently put the weight on them.. but usually when I hit them I am hitting them hard.. and they do tend to bend but it is still less resistance than the hangers digging in..

Ray - Thanks for the photo post (Notice the Hi-Lift nestled into the Con-Ferr??).

Goober - My backside was spared by my Class III receiver hitch. This was a great obstacle to show the benefits of the longer wheelbase (4 Door) Explorers. I needed a few guys to hop on the rear bumper in order to get off this ledge. I usually don't go wheeling with the trailer hitch, but I was glad to have it in this case. I also have two GM tow hooks under my rear Smittybilt dual tube bumper, which would have provided a degree of protection if the hitch was left back at the house.

Mark - Like the wheels, bet some industrial style rollers would fit your need.

Russel - Best of Luck with your mods.
