I've been looking around for 2 days now and can't seem to find anything on the web - did find this site though. I've got a 93 XLT with 215K on it and am looking to replace it. What I'd like to find is a resource that lists out by model year what was standard and optional for each trim level. For example, did a 98 2WD V6 or V8 come with a tow package option? Any such model guide out there anywhere?
Also, any opinions on the 5.0L V8 are welcome. My 4.0 OHV has been bullet proof but I'm not sure it's got the guts needed to tow 3500lbs worth of another car and trailer with any regularity? I hear that gas mileage is roughly the same between the 4.0 and 5.0. Thoughts?
