bwm v-8 04 explorer?

Hello, i've read posts about the brown wire mod working on 02-05 ford explorers with auto 4wd, BUT have heard that their is problems with finding the right brown wire in the bundle on an 04. Has any one with an 2004 ford explorer succesfuly done the brown wire mod without cutting the wire at the T CASE?

Any info would help. thanks
