bypassing the amp

recently i tried installing a new HU into a '93 with the premium audio package, i was wondering where the amp is located and what the best way to bypass it is.

i read over all the threads and i found out where it was placed, but what is the reccomended way to bypass it? i've noticed mixed answers.

Probably the best way to bypass it is to completly re-wire your stereo so it goes straight fom the HU to the speakers. By that is very time consuming. Supposedly, there is a harness that will bypass it that all you have to do is plug it in. I have yet to see one and have yet to get a responce from Cructhfield or any onther audio place I have asked.

I saw a harness for just modifying the plug so you can hardwire the speakers into the harness, but that's not what I'm looking to do. I haven't come across the harness that you speak of yet, hopefully I will.

Circuit City and Best Buy also carry the bypass harness...

call crutchfield and they'll get it to you in 2 days for $14.95 total...

Head unit adapter and amplifier by-pass from Crutchfield is $11.00. The part # is 120705004. This is for a '94. I don't know if all years are the same.
