C/C steering wheel lights

Don't know if this is the right section to place this, but it's worth a shot. I have an 00 X XLT, no steering wheel audio, and the right side c/c lights have gone out. i've looked at it, and I can't seem to find any way to replace then without taking the wheel apart. Has anyone come across this before. I've done a thread search and couldn't come up with squat. Any help would be appreciated..

That is a very interesting question. I don't believe there is a bulb or anything (more than likely L.E.D or the same stuff that's in your radio). You may have a wiring issue. Maybe someone else could help you out.

On my 96 X I removed the CC buttons and replaced the bulb w/one similar but not the correct one. Never did find the right one. I also never got the CC pads back on exactly right. I finally bought some new pads and all was well.
To get to them you need to remove the air bag (at least on the 96 I did) which means first disconnecting the battery and waiting 5 min. or so before starting to take it off the steering wheel. I dont know what you'll find on yours but good luck.
