I have a 96 Ford Explorer with the 8.8 and I was pulling the clips out with the rear end on jack stands with the pinion pointing down since its going to be rebuilt, and I wasn't thinking and I accidentally dropped the C clip into what I'm thinking is an oil passage for the pinion shaft since there's one at the top and bottom of the housing, I stuck my fingers down trying to get it and can't feel it, would the best way to retrieve it with a long magnet or just zap the pinion bolt off and pull the pinon out and try to get it from that way? Thanks for any help
