I'm tying to figure out how good my gas mileage is. When i fill my tank i usually get around 310 KM until i reach empty. This is all city driving. I tried to figure it out and got something like 11mpg, but that sounds pretty sh*tty. I drive a 2 door 4.0 SOHC. Can anybody help me out? Thanks for any replies.

Seems like about 11 to me

Damn, well is that good for all city driving with moderate traffic and lots of stop lights?

no, thats pretty crappy mileage anyway you look at it

How many liters do you normally put in when you fill up? You'll need to know that before you can properly calculate your mpg's

Ya i thought it was bad too. Any idea's why its so low?The engine is stock, i use 87 oct, i don't smash the pedal. My air filter is brand new also. Thanks again

I don't really pay attention to how many litres but i assume if my tank holds 66.2L and i usually fill it alittle under 1/4, it should be around 55L.

really need to know what you put in

to calculate your mileage I think you really need to know how much gas you are putting in it, not just the size of your tank.

This is how I track mine.

1) Fill the tank. Let it stop at the auto-shut off instead of "topping it off" (in theory it would be best to use the same pump always)

2)reset your trip odometer

3) drive until you need to fill up again

4)record what your trip odometer is

5)refill and record how many gallons you put in, then reset the trip odometer

6) Match the gallons you just put in with the miles you recorded between the last fill up and the one you just pumped.

7) divide the miles by the gallons and there you go.

I just keep a little log in my truck for it. I also write down wheater I put in 93 or 92 octane, and the price. Don't really need that info though.

If you keep a log you can use more data to calculate your MPG over a greater time frame. This accounts for your average driving habbits better.

Ok i just found my last two gas receipts, both were 57L and a bit. So well just say 57L, now converting 57L to gallons would give me 15 gallons. Now that 15G got me 310Km which would be 192.6miles. So 192.6/15 = 12.84MPG. Its still sucks, so now the question is how can i improve this?

So if you figure out your mpg in Canada, don't you just add 30% Eah?! :)

I'm averaging 14-15 in the city and I'm in a 4 dr
which is a bit heavier. I've also tracked my mileage
for 10,000 km..
