It will fit;) But if I was going through the trouble to do a cam(2 of them) swap, I'd look into a custom cam designed for good lowened to mid-range power. Comp Cams has a good off the shelf cams as well that can give you the power you're looking for.

Are you considering a cam swap or just curious? Our motors are essentially 99-04 mustang motors but we have aluminum blocks and the mustangs are iron.

<--- is going to be doing trick flow heads and crower stage 2 hi lift cams + Springs + titanium retainers after he gets back from basic. should net close to 80+ rwhp lol. DO IT lol.

I hope you get a run or two in before you do the swap. As you sit, mid-14's should be doable and then with the added mods, I wouldn't be suprised to see you click off low-14's and possibly a 13.99 with a strong tailwind!

i hope soo too! im having some trouble with the truck right now, first i thought it was bad fuel... then i thought it was ignition... the truck just doesnt have any power off the get go, and it "lunges" durring acceleration... i did a 0-60 the other day and i was down to almost 9 seconds, somthing is wrong and im having the damndest time figuring it out, if i get her running strong again i will be doing some runs this summer for sure!! i didnt say anything my OP post, but i will be putting a built level 10 trans with TQ converter at 1800 stall into her at that time as well, also converting to 2x4.

That stall rating is very similar to stock I believe? If I was going through the trouble to build my tranny, I'd get at least a 2500 stall into it. Should help her out of the hole and still be plenty streetable.

Check to make sure your COPS aren't going bad, I know they are aftermarket, but it's possible?

OP- Sorry for getting off topic! But have we helped in any way and do you still have questions/confusions?

cops? Coil overs? I dont know what stock stall is, how MUCH streetability would i lose with a 2500 or a 2300? mines going to be custom made, so i can choose...

COP's are your Coil On Plug, I think you have GMS COP's correct?

If you can get a 2300-2500 stall, I think that will be perfect for DD and will make a difference at the strip. Turdle on here was running a 3000 stall but it wasn't great for DD(as in Towing, etc and he has a 2nd gen). Also, since you are getting your's custom designed, talk with your designer and let them know what it is you plan on doing. They can then tell you exactly what will work with your application.

OK!! WOW, thanks a bunch first of all limited, i pulled the GMS 60K V's out, and reinstalled my stockers just to see what would happen. here is the results, shutter on acceleration, gone compleatly. Shifting trouble, gone. 0-60...back under 7 seconds...0-100...equaly as fun. so. first of all :salute:... and now...:( i realize i need to drop 350-500 bucks for a new set of performance coil packs. I pulled the rubber water stops off of mine and 3 of them had broken magnets, one didnt have a magnet at all... and one had a broken base.. im not sure if i reperchase i will be going with GMS, these are only 18 months old. again, thanks a million... but im still sad lol.

New project list... Trick flow heads + manifold + Crower cams/springs + Coil packs...grr

also, the ENTIRE Trans is going to be custom built (as is level 10s way) so im sure i will have an EXCELLENT Drive train,

they damn sure better fit. do some research on the part and make sure they arnt high rise (or you will need springs as well)... i say if you have hte coin that you bounce on that... i WISH i could find cams on my craigslist lol.

yes they are high rise cams, stock valve lift is about 1/4 inch, and these are just over 1/2 inch. talk to the guy and find out if the springs are for the high rise, if they are, i sugjest you hop on this deal, to get that much stuff new would cost 700-1000 dollers. !!READ THIS!! according to comp cams website they would like a 2000+ stall converter, so if your vehicle loses drivability, you could be looking at spending a grand or more for a new stall converter, and taking a day or so to install it... im not sayin this is the way things will work out, as our rigs have the 3.73 gears, only way to find out is to pick them up and do the install and see how she drives. these cams are just about perfect for street use, as they focus on the mid range power where our engines already make peak power, i could easily see 30+ rwhp gains out of this... im curius and hope you make the leap!

where would i get a stall converter like that? is there a specific one i should be looking for?

Im going with a level 10 when i get my aftermarket trans (as soon as my stocker fails this is whats going in!) they cost a little more, but i will get what im looking for.

The 5r55s trans parts MAY be compatable with the 5r55w, i sugjest you check with a trans shop specialist before you perchase anything, they can also direct you towards a better stall than i can. you may not need a stall converter to run these cams.

thanks man you have been loads of help, im calling that guy in the morning to see whats up with them. it would be nice if i didnt need a stall converter, but either way i dont see myself passing up this deal.

i dont think you will NEED a stall, but it could be nice, ive stalled my stock converter to 2500 rpm..so who knows.

awesome the dude sold them by the time i called him :(

Well it's a good thing because the cams were a little on the bigger side anyway. If you read the reviews, everyone talks how power improved in the upper RPM's. We need more low to mid power(topend will still increase;)) and I bet the XE262AH would be a better choice.
