I brought my '96 Explorer Sport to the dealership and got one problem fixed. I suspected that one of the O2 sensors was bad. I was right, but the dealership's computer said I have a bad cam syncro & sensor, which is the cause for the squealing noise I here every now & then. They want $550 (parts & labor) to do the job.
I would appreciate anyone's experience who has performed this type of repair. Should I do it myself or bring it back to the dealer?
