hi, i've noticed on explorers (95-01) and rangers w/ the same IFS that the front wheels always seem to have a little noticible negitive camber.

Even when i got my explorer aligned with all new ball joints (UCA and lowers) and hub units that it still looked in some instances that i had visible negitive camber. as a result i took it back and told them what i saw, so they stuck it back on the alignment rack and checked it, it all was "in spec" or so they told me, but i could still see the negitive camber so i decied not to worrie about what they said. i could aslo tell that it had some negitive camber due to the fact that my TSL radials inside edge of the inside lugs were "choping".

I took it over to a friends shop and adjusted the camber bolts to as far as it would go to correct the negitive camber, it looked better, but still has a little negitive camber. i could later tell that it definatly had negitive camber issues because the inside edge of the inside lugs of my TSL radials were "choping" again after i rotated them. I started to think this was more just the way that the TSLs wore if the camber was off because of the wide spacing of the side lugs.

So i took it back to the alignment shop and they blamed it on that the tire because it is a mud tire and that my passenger tie rod end had developed some play. I respectfuly disagreed, and am now looking to solve the problem on my own.

I would really like to try and figure this out because i would like to go a 3" BL and 33" tires w/ new wheels and not have the tires ware funny again, but if i cant get this figured out i'm going to SAS as a last resort.

no ideas?

Try posting in the wheel/tyre or suspension section; you're unlikely to a reasonable response in the "engine" section.

oops, must have missed that section...
