Camshaft question

Can a camshaft be replaced with the engine in the truck or does it need to be pulled?

For 1996 OHV 4.0.

pull it. It's easier. If it's anything like my '91, you will have to remove the heads too. The lifters can't be removed with the heads on (1990 to 1994)
you also would have to remove the radiator and the a/c condensor to put the cam in
