It would work, but you won't like it. It's also going to kill gas mileage and probably wear out the tranny in short time, too. Your speedo will be way off as well.
If you have to ask, gears need to be professionally installed. Parts+labor is normal in the $1200 area to re-gear. But it can be a lot cheaper if you buy a complete used front differential (install it yourself), and pay the have the rear re-geared ($500something).
Either way expensive, but needs to be done really if you want to run bigger tires..
I run 33x12.50s with a 3.27 open diff. Trust me it ain't no race car but in my opinion its not unbearably slow. You should be fine with 3.55 and 31s. If you go with 32s you'll deffinately feel it. My gas mileage dropped like 2mpg and my speedo & odometer are off slightly (speedo is 5 slower then what my actual speed is). Install a bigger tranny cooler and baby it you'll be fine IMO.
i have 31x10.50x15 on my 92 and my speed is off 5mph and it gets worse gas mileage, not sure how much it dropped in mpg,but 50.00 at 3.59 @ gallon lasted me 5 days, but i do alot of city driving and that aint helpin much either
