I have tubular steel replacement doors for my Explorer. Personally I woudn't run with no doors at all in a vehicle which spends a lot of time on the road. Too many idiots out there. I wouldn't want to be wearing the front end of someone elses truck.

yes, you can. But you probably wouldnt want to. remeber you need to disconnect the wirings for the doors and get them aligned right when they go back on.

Try and explain that to the insurance company if anything ever happens :) "Uhhh they hit me so hard the doors flew right off"

Ricks Explorer is pretty much a dedicated trail rig so those doors are pretty much dead weight and would only get munched up with the type of wheeling he does.
Why not just enjoy the comforts of your A/C (if you got it) or roll down the windows? I don't think I could tolerate the wind noise traveling at highway speeds but that's just me.

Plus you have rain, the fact you couldn't lock anything, and the fact that unless your 3rd gen was highly modified it would look like you had a accident and didn't have enough $$$ for the doors.

Depending where you are the law may have something to say about it.

the law shouldnt be a problem around here, and i just like the fact of cruising around without doors, i was wondering to take the wiring out would it be hard to get it all back in corectly thankss

I took them off my 96' twice. The wind is not that bad at highway speeds either, it was actually really cool driving around without doors. The only down side is aligning them again and then if you do it by yourself(i did that). I have a thread on here some where....ill see if i can find it

id hate to say it but if u want to drive around with no doors get a j**p

its not worth the hassel and it would look like crap

ya idc how it looks i just think it be neat cruising around here down by shore without doors just relaxing ya know

If you do it... take pictures as you go, so that you know where to put everything when you put it back together... trying to remember where everything goes is a pain... Trust me, I know first hand!!!
