Can Memory Seats Be Added

I looked at this as it is the one option I wish I had and I now agree with everyone here that it is simply too much to install with confidence.

You would need a new driver's side door piece that allows for the larger switch, and the switch. There is also a memory module that has to plug in somewhere and that alone is $160. With the other two pieces, from memory on the pricing, you are looking about about $300. to get the parts, assuming the wiring is already in place.

Must be about time for a new Platinum Mike.;)

After the issues I have had with my Ford Explorer, and the fact it has been in the shop for about 35 days of the last 60, and being it was my first Ford ever, it will be my last. Everything is working now and I like it, but it has soured me and there is little chance I would buy a Ford again. I have had way too many issues.

My Sport doesn't have memory seats, either. I didn't realize how much I would hate it but that's on me.

I have to say I would gladly pay $300 in parts if I could add memory seats. Do you mind PMing me the part numbers, etc or just post them up here? I'd like to take a look at what you have so far.

Actually I do not have the part numbers, I am sorry. I was browsing around eBay and found the memory module but let me see what I can find for you.

As I am on eBay, I am finding a few parts doing a search by 2011 ford explorer seat memory

You will need this switch:

Here is the memory module, though I have no idea where it goes.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-O...ash=item35e37b6f7e:g:8gAAAOSwBahVTpJ5&vxp=mtr

There is one more part but I cannot locate information on it. On your DS door where your lock/unlock button resides, the piece above is what has to replace it, but you need that door unlock piece that accepts that switch.

By the way, if you find where the memory module goes, could you please tell me? I might consider this as well.

O.K. I just found out the memory module plugs in under what appears to be the DS seat, but one has to wonder if the stock vehicle has the wiring in place for it. I can tell you that I have been below that seat quite a few times due to an issue with the plug in connector that is located there and I have never seen additional wiring that would allude to where this module resides. It is not like you have some spare connectors sitting down there waiting on the module.

I am also finding what appears to be a connector for the memory module, however, the wiring connector has a small end, the other is not showing, and that memory module has a boat load of pins.

If we both work on this, we might find the answer! I know I'd love to do it to my XLT.

Thanks for responding.
I do have the 10 way leather heated seats. I have a fully loaded XLT. It's the only one we could find that had the Tri-white with nav. With a sticker of 44k I never imagined it did not have memory.
I should have checked further into it and possibly chosen a Limited.
So having said that, would it be possible to add the module for memory. The key fobs are easy to exchange.
I have a 2010 Ford adrenaline with the 10way heated leather seats with no memory option,I'm looking for a way to add it if it's possible

Welcome to the Forum.
This is the Forum for the 2011 - 2017 5th generation Ford Explorer which is quite different from previous models. If your is a Sport Trac then here is the Sub forum you should be posting in; http://www.explorerforum.com/xenforo/index.php?forums/2007-2010-explorer-sport-trac.124/ There may be members there more familiar with your model. Good luck.

Now in 2023 wondering if this ever got resolved. Got a 2018 XLT that I would happily pay a few hundred to put in memory seats.

Always preferred manual seats

I mean it’s basically a adjust it once and done

That would be true in most cases if there was just one driver, but many households these days may have 2 or more driver using the same vehicle.
