I've always heard over tightening lugs can warp rotors but will that happen on a 4x4 explorer with hubs?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it will.

Can it, YES. Will it......YES.

There is alot of variables when it comes to warping of your rotors, but one common condition is over tightening or un evenly tightened lugnuts.

Yep, never trust the tire guys to auto torgue them. Most tire places over torgue because they don't want the wheel to fall off. I always re-torgue the wheels in the tire parking lot after I pay for it. Sometimes I need a 2' long 1/2" breaker bar with a 3' pipe extension just to get the lugs loose!!

Yep- use a clicking torque wrench for best results
