Can "power lift gate" be switched off to "manual"?

Either that or permanently re-done to work as a manual?

I carry lots of different size boxes in my trunk (work related) and often a few boxes come out just a hair more than sensor allows for and I'm having hard time closing the gate. If it was manual I could just easily press down on the box and safely close the gate with literally no damage to the goods inside the box.

You can always manually close the lift gate even with the power tailgate feature on. I've had to do it myself where I push the button, it closes only to barely tap something in the back and it reopens. I then just grab it and close it myself. Once you close it, it will suck itself in just as if it did it by the button.

I only see a setting to disable the exterior lift gate switch.
