- 1999 Ford Explorer XLS
I got a 1999 Explorer XLS. For some reason, my 4x4 won't work.
Replaced the Transfer Case Motor.
Before/After I changed it, I could/can hear something "engaging" or shifting into place it sounds like (more than likely it's the chain STARTING to turn, maybe?) however whatever I do I can't seem to get my front tires to spin.
I've come to the conclusion that maybe my front differential is messed up, or maybe it's an electrical problem outside my transfer case motor. But I'm not sure. I only recently started working on automotive stuff, by trade I'm a marine diesel technician and most of this stuff is relatively new to me. Ya'll seem to know what you're doing so any kind of help or input is appreciated! Thank you!
