Can't turn off heat...

Guys,

I'm having a problem that whenever I turn the vents on, heated air comes out, as if the temperature dial is turned to the hottest setting. (This is on a '98 XLT.) I am, for the most part, a novice to automotive repair, but I am mechanically inclined and not afraid to pull stuff apart and fix stuff. Anyone have any ideas? Is this something I might be able to address by myself?

Do a search for "blend air door fix." This is a common broblem for '97-'98 Explorers and has been discussed many times before.

Fixed! Woo-hoo!!!

I just did the blend door fix last night, and it worked perfectly! Saved $1000!!
