Car Alarm going off

I have a 94 Explorer and the car alarm has started to go off intermittanly for no reason. There is also a blue switch installed on the lower left of the dash, I do not know what this is for. Please help, if you have any answers.

Is your alarm factory or aftermarket?

I have the factory installed alarm and it did the same thing a few years ago. Whenever the truck was parked for a long period of time, the alarm would go off, usually 3:30-4:00a.m. It turned out to be my battery suffering a slow death! Once it was replaced, after a complete fail 4 days later, the problem was cured.

It is a factory installed alarm. I will get my battery tested.
