Car robbed with just a screwdriver

I live in San Antonio and have had two vehicles broken into, I put Jimmi Jammers on my Excursion and F-150. The device has stopped thieves twice but at this time they do not sale the device for the 2011 Explorer, so the more people that call the sooner we may get a better level of security.

I took the keyed locks off my 05 Superduty for this reason. Also I can start any Superduty in less than five minutes with only a torx screwdriver... the ignition switch on those trucks is like an invitation to steal it.

Here's an update for you guys. I went to the dealer to order the plastic cover over the lock (which happens to cost $55), and the guy at the Parts Dept said its definitely possible to open the locks by getting under that cover. He did not know if it would disable the alarm or not though.

I also had a service tech look at it to see if there was any damage I didn't spot. I mentioned the idea of removing the lock cylinder but he seemed to think that would only make it easier for someone to pop the lock open. Not sure if he understood what I meant.

For those who asked, they stole personal items and didn't damage the truck at all. I think they were in a rush because they put a few things in their original places to make it look like nothing happened.

They mainly stole my laptop, ipad, and some small computer equipment. I realize it could have been a lot worse...still stucks to have this happen to a brand new car.
