I have a 2000 ford explorer 4 wheel drive. Just put another motor in that came out of 1999 explorer sport 2 wheel drive. Does not go into gear at all. Would the wiring harness have anything to do with that? Any ideas why?

Didn't touch linkage

We didn't touch the linkage on the tranny. Just put the motor in.

If it is up and running but won't go into gear, check the transmission fluid level if its an auto.

Plenty of fluid

Plenty of tranny fluid. Any other ideas?

did the new motor come with a flexplate or did u swap your old one onto the new motor...? aka bolting up torque convertor

torque convertor

When put engine in had trouble tightening engine to transmission don't think convertor went into transmission right. When first got it started, it made a whining sound and cleared up after few minutes, but wouldn't move after that.

Cost?

Any idea how much a front pump would cost?
