Hi my wife has a 2000 exployer 4.0, it broke down a month ago. when it broke down and we towed it to the house I found out that two of the spark plug wires was burnt through and the lines going to the egr pressure sensure and blown off and one was burnt through.
I replaced the hoses and sensor after someone said that it could be bad causing blow back, replaced wires and plugs also. Couldnt not get it to stay running. I would crank it up and as long as I let it idle it would be fine as soon as i gave it any gas or put it in drive it would idle like it had a vaccume leak(checked for that too) and die and wont crank again till its cold but father inlaw said that the fuel pressure was reading at 40psi so I replaced the fuel pump and filter still nothing works,
We so far have replaced
Fuel pump
filter,
vacumm lines
map sensor
idle air control sensor
ecm
coil pack
temp sensor
If anyone could please help me would be wonder full. thank you so much.
