Isn't there an easier way to remove these deposits from the piston tops? My 2 pistons that were pinging badly deposited this HARD, scaly crap...it took me 2 1/2 hours just to get ONE piston done. I'm using a scotch brite pad and a plastic putty knife.
Car/choke cleaner hardly touches it.
Paint thinner does nothing.
Sooo...I took some (cringe) Hot Power drain cleaner, which is acid...this is the ONLY thing that helps to remove the deposits, and it doesn't etch the pistons...BUT...it dissolves the scotch brite pads!!! And my mechanic's gloves!!! Still takes forever!!!
