Cargo area smells like smoke

Here is a good one for you experts.

Yesterday I started my truck about 5 mins prior to leaving. I got inside my truck and it smelt like something electrical was burning. Neither my four channel amp or my sub amp are working. The fuse that goes from my aux battery to amy sub amp blew. The fuse that goes from my aux battery to my 4 channel amp did not blow. I do not have any sound coming from my 4 channel amp and the power light will not go off unless I pull the fuse. The subwoofer amp works now that I changed the fuse. The fuse that goes from my battery isolater to my aux battery did not blow either. Anyone want to take any guess on what happend so I can prevent it from happening again.

Well I found out that my battery isolator was only good for an alternator up to 120amps. About a week ago I put in a 130amp one so that explains that. I took my 4 channel amp apart yesterday and the inside is black and cooked. Oh well anyone got a 4 channel they want to part with for cheap.

If you don't want to spend much, you should look into the Alpine V-Power amps. I have the 5 channel and my buddy has the 4 channel and we have had no problems. They sound good and are pretty cheap, I think I saw the 4 channel for under $200.

i know this is probably dumb to u..but what is a battery isolater? do they come stock on all cars?

A battery isolater is ideal for people that have an auxillary battery. What it does is it uses the alternator to charge the main battery. Once that main battery is 100% it charges the auxillary battery.
