does using a cargo cover to hide your subs in anyway effect the sound of your subs?

Honestly, it shouldnt effect your subs much at all. The frequencies produced by the subs are too low for our ears to hear the difference.

OK... to explain simply...
If you put tweeter or a speaker under the cargo cover, there is most likely going to be a noticeable change in sound - more muffled and quieter, due to its higher frequencies.
It is easier for low frequencies to pass through certain objects then it is for high frequencies.

You might get noise from the cover itself vibrating, best way to know is try it. My eX doesn't have a cargo cover so I cant try it out.

Bass Is omni-directional. So it shouldn't effect it at all. But you might get some vibration from the cover like KC90 said.

The best thing to do is tint your windows nice and dark.. it not only hides the contents of your truck, but it looks nice on the outside... If there is enough interest I can do a write up on installing window tint. To have a shop do it can cost well over $150, but to do it yourself costs about $40 if you do all of the back windows (about $50 including the front two windows) and you end up with enough scrap to do a strip on your windsheild.

It wouldnt affect the sound, but you would probably hear the poor thing flapping around and vibrating, unless there was a way you could get it very tight.

Mine has no effect on sound with either my stealth mounted (side pocket) sub or my old sub mounted in a box. Good security to use it if you can.
