I need to shampoo some carpets in some vehicles around here. Anyone know what really works good and easy...

Steam vacuum cleaner mixed with your favorite laundry detergent and your carpet will smell like fresh laundry when you are done. Seriously.

I find that clothing stain removers (shout, stain away) and a toothbrush work great for carpets and seats.

I have a compact shampooer called the little green cleaning machine I use exclusively on my vehicles and boat. And for the tough spots I use tuff stuff found at any auto parts or even wal mart.

Rug Doctor with the hand attachment works great.

The easiest

The easiest stuf i have found is Prestone Interior cleaner. I forgot where i got it but im sure you could find it at Advance Auto Parts or some place like that. Its a foam that you have to let set in and there is a plastic scrub brush attached to the top of the can. Its odorless and and it also nuetralizes odors from the stains. This stuff is so good that when i got shoe polish all over the rug in my house i used it too. If it takes black shoe polish off a white house rug, there isnt anything it wont take off your interior carpet. I highly recomend it, even if you have to go over a spot more than once.

Ronnie,

I use a small Bissel unit that is meant for spot-cleaning home carpets. It is perfect for a vehicle since there is not much real estate to clean. I always used the Rug Doctor Anti-bacterial or Pet formulas. Pet is good because it has an odor neutralizer.

An option, however, if you don't want to go the shamoo unit route is to get the shampoo, mix it in a bucket, and apply it with a medium coarseness brush. Then, use a Shopvac wet/dry to remove the water.

I really liked this turlte wax stuff in a yellow and orange can
