Last weekend I was nominated the DD for my brother and his friends to a party because they wanted my Explorer for the room, needless to say....I regret ever being nice. I need some tips/tricks of getting that GREAT vomit smell out of the carpet. One of my brother's friends used this compound/solution that has worked for him before, but didnt work here. It is my daily driver, and has been out of comission for days now(that smell is ungodly at this point, I refuse to step in it). Anyone have any tips of getting vomit out of the carpet? Pretty soon im just going to break down and take it to a professional.

Well you can remove the front two seats and center console, some trim and remove the entire carpet kit, hang it up and power wash it.
You can use a steam cleaner as well (like a Rug Doctor or Bissell)

Some of our local car washes have car steam cleaners, coin operated.
That should work.

Also the vomiter and or your brother should be doing the labor IMO

Or atleast paying for the services. I have used simple green before on the carpet and have pulled up all types of stuff. That might possibly work as well. good luck

the car wash idea will be the easiest way and make your carpet look great
lightly do your seats if you can too just be gntle on the seats it brought mine back looking allmost new

steamcleaning and anti bacterial also. the last thing you need is breathing in spores of bacteria and other ailments.

One of my friends had that happen. We dared one of our drunk friends to eat stuff out of the fridge, like ketchup, mustard, milk, chocolate syrup, etc.

Later that night, he technicolored yawned on the floor in the back. We went to the car wash and used the vacuum , then went to a gas station that a buddy worked at, did a quick clean, and hit it with some deodorizer that was in a spray bottle. Nice mix of vomit and green apple

Worked though. No noticeable scent within two days.

Maybe try the Rug Doctor, and use the hand attachment on it.
