Does anyone have a webpage or directions on how to install a head unit into a 1995 Explorer. I want to do it myself, because I know the basics and don't want to pay $75 for an install. Thanks in advance.

I just did my '95.
All you have to do is go to walmart and buy the stereo removal tool for a ford. It will pull right out. Oh BTW if anyone tells you to use coat hangers then tell them to go to hell. I used to install radios at a car aaudio place and we used them but it takes forever on fords. go out and spend the $2.50 for the tool. You also need a wiring harness($8) and also a dash install kit($12), ya heard?

hahaha, I agree with you regulator.. I was told to use coat hangers, and what did I get? scratches on my bezel.. I wound up having an audio shop remove the HU for me... walmart hardly new what a ford was.. much less radio removal keys

I just want to spin you guys up-
Four 6d or 8d nails set in each of four corners of a piece of 1/4 inch hardboard (I measured the insert hole spacing one day). Two seconds in, two seconds out- scratch free. (But I will admit that $2.50 is cheap). Coat hangers? Coat hangers were made to hold brake calipers! The technical problem with coat hangers is that the ends of the release pins must be held by something so that they go in square, otherwise the spring retainer just pushes them out of its way.
