The Brackets are different.

is there a way to remove the old bracket? if not where can i get a new one?

bump............i really want to install this

The mounts are TOTALLY different.

The 95+ Full length console has NOTHING like the short console, as far as brackets and everything like that are concerned.

There is a 'slot' type of hole that needs to be cut into the floor to accept the Full length console.

I'm almost certain that is a bracket that can be added and not a slot that needs to be cut. (that is assuming you are talking about the rear mount of the console) I just had the entire floorboard exposed and I'm trying to remember, but I think the brackets could be added for the full length console. You will need to cut them out of a donor and weld or rivet them into place on your car. Careful measurement and pictures from the donor would be necessary. Trial fit prior to final assembly and welding.

I'm trying to think if there is a difference in the dash for the full length console. I can't answer that...but there could be.

no- the dashes are the same. all im missing is the rear bracket. darn i didnt know i would have to cut and weld........

I'm not saying you will. You MAY have to. You may be able to remove the old brackets and rivet too. I just can't remember how they are fastened.

I don't remember mine being bolted in. But if they do, then you are home free. There is another bracket in front of the rear bracket that has two mount bolts. I think it is referenced in the article you linked. I'm thinking you should use that if possible. It may not be necessary, but it would prevent a rattle and really firm the console up so it didn't move around at all when you were accessing the inside or pressing against it, etc.
