Hi,
I have search on the forum for a problem like mine but can't seem to find a fix for the problem I have with a uk 2000 explorer what I have recently bought.

My key will only unlock the lock it is put into; eg the drivers door, then I have to unlock the rest of the car with the switch on the inside of the door the other 2 switches in the car work as well, also the alarm goes off when the door is opened, I have 2 remotes what dont work as well. the drives power lock actuator works on the switch.

any ideas would be greatful on this issue.

You most likely have a problem with the electrical connection to the lock itself. Besides mechanically unlocking the driver's door, it should also send a signal to the central locking system, alarm,. etc. First place to look is in the wiring bundle between the door and the body - very common for one or more wires to break in there. WRT the key fobs - first thing to do is put in new batteries. Good luck.
