change rear spring, this sucks

hi, i have a 2002 four door how do you remove the rear shock i have to change a spring its broken? Do you have to drop the lower control arm? thank guys;: jimbo

Hi jimbo and welcome. I'd offer some tips but since I have a 1st gen Explorer and that wouldn't do you much good. There are a lot of great folks on here and more than likely, someone will be able to tell you but in the mean-time, try using the site's search feature.
