I have the halo headlights and fog lights on my ford explorer.

I was looking around and i have seen red rings. Is there anyway to do this on my setup? If so, how would i go about doing this? Has anyone changed the ring color in theirs?
thanks.

I don't mind bending the rules on a lot of things. But tricking people into thinking you look like a cop is not one of them. Pull that on the wrong person and you won't like the result. Something along the lines of Joe Dirt's tissue substitute.

I already have foglights, i just want to change the color of the rings. I was thinking that, that is how you do it, I just wouldnt know how to go about taking them apart.

I know, remember me? The ccfl halos are much brighter than led. They can be used as daytime running lights... The headlights need to be heated up then popped open. Probably same for the fogs. If you are going to do it, you should go with the multi-color option. It would suck to get pulled over for running red and thats your only option...push a button and you are running white again.http://www.aliexpress.com/product-g...ngel-eyes-RGB-changing-color-wholesalers.html

I no way am I trying to "Trick" someone into thinking i am a cop..just want something different that looks cool. Cop lights flash, not stay on constantly. Plus with headlights on you would barley notice the red rings anyway.

im sorry..what exactly is a ccfl? I cant believe they make that much of a difference.

Check out the pics. The led halos don't even look like they are on compared to the ccfl.

CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lighting) core technology. CCFL is a phosphor coated glass tube filled with mercury gas. CCFL produces a very bright white light with a slight hint of blue or cyan. The look is very "high tech" and matches HID equipped lights exceedingly well. Additionally, this technology provides for very bright output from the halo rings so they're visible day or night.

The ccfl halos in the white explorer are brighter than any factory bmw that i've seen, day or night.

that is so awesome man..how did you install those?
thanks for all the help!

Heres how Afboy opened his headlights. Ive never tried this: Turn the oven on to 300 degrees F and let it preheat for 10 mins. After that, turn it off and put the housing in for 7 mins. Take it out and see if the lense will come off. If not, preheat the oven again and put in for an additional 5 mins. This is what I did on my diamond cuts to open them up

WARNING: A member on another forum noted that ford headlights melt easily under heat. What kind of heat? Not sure... I would think the above procedure is fine since the oven is not on when the headlights are put in

We are not gonna help someone put red/cop like lights in/on his ride. It is not only illegal but but why help someone, who no one knows, do something that could endanger another person?
You wanna look like a Cop? Then be a Cop.
If you dont realize the seriousness of an "Impersonating an Officer" charge, I dont want to help you in any way.

I'm still interested in the opening of these lights and changing the light output in the halos.

Don't you think just a brighter white instead of red would look better? Maybe tint of a blue, but more white?

haha this made me laugh..you are right man. I want to look like a cop with red rings on the front of my car that stay red all the time rather than flash. If your going to come at me like that why dont you come with some logic. Cops lights blink and flash, not stay on all of the time, not to mention they are blue as well. I guess they might could figure me as a fire fighter hence they only have red lights. but yet again no they wouldn't. No one would even notice them when the headlights are on anyway. Its not like im going to ride around with just the rings on at night.
But good try at trying to make me feel like an idiot. Maybe if i wanted them to flash diffrent colors like red/blue simultaneously, then maybe you could call me out for trying to look like a cop. But sense im not, if you do not have any useful info, please do not post in my thread.
Thanks.
